Why Mothers Kill — album cover

There is music for «Warum Mütter töten» — and it was there even before the book. Fifteen songs, all sung in English. Available everywhere from today.

An album before the novel

Things happened in an unusual order: the album came before the book. The novel has since been published. The album never retold the story — it stands beside it. Anyone who reads the book will recognise the songs; anyone who hears them first does not yet know what they are letting themselves in for.

The clock reads 05:07

In Kyiv, Anastasia has almost nothing left — except her three-year-old daughter. Then the worst day of her life begins to repeat itself: again and again, at 05:07, back to the start. The track list carries this clock within it. It opens with a lullaby, Sleep, My Little Star. Then comes October 10th — the day. In the middle stands Five-Oh-Seven, the time everything snaps back to. In between lies what such a day is made of: Bread Is Bread, Credit Cares, Five in the Morning. Forever Three — the child stays three. And at the very end, after Run, comes a title that for a long time did not exist in the story: October Eleventh. The eleventh of October. The day after.

Where to find the album

On the album page you can play it directly — via YouTube Music, Spotify or Apple Music, whichever you prefer, without leaving the page. If you would rather have it in your own library, you will find the links there too. Deezer will follow within the next few hours. The album is not an audiobook, nor an extra to go with the book, but a music project in its own right, made for the story.
